THE BIG KUNZTE FIND OF 2009
Well, it's December 2009 now. We have completed a new portal to make it
easier to remove waste rock from the mine. We just completed it about
1 month ago. We have been driving new tunnels along a pay streak for
the past few weeks. Here is a sampling of what is being found now.

Now for the BIG NEWS. We have just hit probably the BEST kunzite pocket to come
out of Pala in the past 60 YEARS. The start of the pocket was dug on December 3rd.
Below is likely the finest gem kunzite to ever come from San Diego county with a purple
hue beyond comparison. The photos below were taken by Mark Mauthner. The crystal is
about 4 to 5 inches in total length and double terminated. We have been waiting for this
pocket all year long and it has arrived. It is one of moany crystals that came from a
basketball sized pocket of pure gem kunzite.
